Was in Cabelas last night and they had an XD-9 Tactical (5-inch) for $299. Used but in LNIB condition. It interesting that it appears SA has dropped the 5-inch Tactical gun from the original XD line and only offer it in the XD mod.2 line. They also only offer the defender version in 9mm not 40S&W or 45 ACP

I like my XD-40's but the magazine has always a short coming. The are tough functional magazine I have been them up pretty good but since they did not widen the magazine and grip when they made the original XD-9 into the XD-40 the magazine are not true double stacks when loaded with 40S&W (only the feed lips change), hence the limited magazine capacity of only 12rds where most 40S&W guns are getting 15-16rd in similar length magazines. -rambling

I picked up a used XD-9 SC (in like new condition) w/ 1 - 13 round mag at a local pawn shop
for $250 and a few days later I found 2 S.A. OEM 13 round mags (in nice condition) at another
pawn shop that I paid $20 for (both). I love pawn shops, and I've gotten a lot of really nice
weapons for GREAT prices many times.

Springfield is now selling their older style XD pistols in 9mm fullsize and sub-compact for $339 MSRP. That is a street value of under $300 for a new double stack reliable 9mm pistol that has been well proven for several years since around 2000 in the US at least when it was the HS2000.
I got one last week at a local shop for $299 . To me that is the best bang for the dollar going on right now. It even beats the Ruger Secuirty 9 and its low price. Palnetto State Armory had them for $299 also last week.View attachment 821789 It comes with the case and just one magazine .I choose the Sub-Compact. Here is a photo of it .

That is great value for money spent. It kinda illustrates by how much other brands are overpriced.
