Springfield M1A-Nikon choice?

What would go better on M1A, 3.3x10x44 or 5.5x16x44? These are the Nikon Monarch series. I'm looking to replace a 40mm. Thanks!

I'm thinking ones 3.3-10 power and the other's 5.5-16? Personally, I can hunt all day long with a 4 power scope. If you're shooting mostly short range (300yds or less), I'd get the 3.3-10.
