Hello to all,
I have a question about a 1870 trapdoor Springfield. My question is will an 1861-64 Springfield stock swap to an 1870 dated trapdoor. I’ve seen some 1868 models with 1869 dates have the same appearance stock as the prior Springfields. This 1868 model dated 1870, has what appears to look like 1873 style stock without the large wood area around the lock plate. If anyone with trapdoor experience can give any knowledge, please let me know.
