I have a SPringfield TRP, that was my welcome home from Iraq present to myself. Rescently i the rear sight has started moving on my, after about 100 rounds, and i am wondering if this is something i can fix myself or should i cart it to a gun smith to repair? It appears that the set screw keeps loosning up, but i don't know if it is as simple as drilling a small hole to lock the set screw in place. any help would be appreceated.

Welcome back ! Thank you for helping to keep us safe :)

The set screw alone should hold it . Pick up some "blue" Loctite . Making sure you have the sight positioned where you want it , put a small drop in the hole and tighten the lock screw down . It should hold .

TRP . Nice choice by the way ;)

I will give that a try, i was amazed when i found that the sight had moved on me. I will try that before i take it to the gun smith. thanks for the help.
