Okay guys, as anyone who has followed my range reports knows, I have a new Springfield XD subcompact 40. The gun is the most accurate subcompact I have shot to date but it seems to have a couple of flaws.
Flaws:
1.) The trigger seems to have a slap back, which really begins to sting after just a few rounds. It really makes shooting the gun an unpleasant experience.
2.) The trigger safety is sharp and I have buffed and shaved it to try and get it to smooth out, but right a the front tip, it's really difficult to get that portion and that combined with the slap just flat out hurts.
3.) The gun will fail to extract at least 1 round out of 100 regardless of ammo used. UMC 180 gr. Winchester Personal Defense 180 gr. WWB 165gr. etc. This is completely unacceptable by my standards for a self defense weapon.
4.) It appears from the used brass that the gun has a rough spot in the chamber that could possibly be causing the failures....
So off it goes to the factory. I will be posting a customer care report soon. :banghead:
