There is a massive manhunt on the East Side of St. Paul, MN, this morning as officers from several Depts. search for two suspects that shot and killed Sgt. Jerry Vick around 2:20 am, while working undercover on E. 7th St. in St. Paul.
I graduated from high school with Jerry, and my Dad was on his oral boards. (He asked me if I thought Jerry would be a good cop, and I said that he'd be a very good one.) I am shocked and saddened at Jerry's death, he was a good cop, well loved in the community. When we were teenagers, he was the guy that stopped the inevitable fights at the parties. He once found a bank deposit with several thousand dollars cash in it, and turned it in without thought of reward. He had Two Medals of Valor, one of them for saving a one-year old from a burning building. Please let your prayers for him and his family join mine.
