Looking for a Stainless 1911 Compact for Cheap!!!

are the LLama Mini Max 45 pistols any good??? or should I go the RIA cs route and have it dipped???

are you looking for a jammomatic? A compact and a cheap brand?:barf:

I'd say you could get away with one: a compact or it being a cheap brand, but not both.

I don't know about cheap but I love my little Para Ordnance C-645. This little monster has been one of my favorite carry guns for several years. I also have a Kimber ultra carry that is very nice. Mine is not the stainless version but they do make them and they are not cheap.

Llama is history and their little compact was a POS I ad one till I found a sucker that wanted it.
Don't waste money on any late model llama
You don't dip SS . Get a RIA and leave it alone chrome or nickle aren't all that great and to have it done and right might get expensive.

Thanks guys.... ok...

Now

RIA vs. Colt Defender...

Is the defender worth the $$$ or sould I go Kimber carry??? OR are they a waist of $$ and go with the RIA and save the cash??

Stay far away from the Llama. You will regret it if you buy it.

CD and RI make pretty decent guns, but they aren't on the level of the high-dollar guns.

I recently had a full-size 1911 nickled with high polish including the rounds for $180. I had to do something with it because I installed a beavertail grip safety and I radiused the frame. That left some ugly bare metal slightly visible. A high polish blue job would have run me $150 so I opted to spend the extra $30.

If you are looking for recommendations, I recommend a Colt. They are more money, but they are worth more when you buy them and they are worth more if you should ever decide to sell them. They are also much easier to sell than the lower-priced 1911s.

I have a safe full of Llamas, spanning 65 years of production. I've had one lemon. My Minimax .45 is reliable and accurate, as almost all of them are.
I don't look for Llamas made from about 1970 to 1990 though, as those are the years that are suspect to me. Nevertheless, right now I have two of them I bought as junk. One built up into a nice, reliable, accurate pocket pistol for under $200.
I do appreciate all you guys keeping the prices low!
But they are not stainless, they are hard-chromed. Llama made no stainless guns as far as I can determine.
