Stainless parts in Blued 1911

Hi. I just want to make sure. Is it okay to use a stainless firing pin in a Blued 1911? So in general, is there anything wrong with mixing stainless and blue metal?

No problem at all. The factories and gunsmiths do it all the time.
I think contrasting color external parts look kind of hokey, but it is a matter of style and maybe availability, not function.

Yep--doubt you'd have any galling, etc. with the dissimilar metals. In fact, isn't it similar-metal contact that typically produces galling?

Always thought that's why bolt-action guns had their receivers and bolts made of different metals.
