I'm getting a home equity loan, and I've decided I want a high end stainless steel carry pistol. I'm looking for some help here - money is not really an issue, so let's get creative on this one.

The only requirement is that its reasonably carry friendly IWB or OWB (probably 32 ounces, and 5" or less barrel).

What high end stainless steel carry pistols are on the market right now?

Thanks in advance.

CZ75, 1911's(lots), Sig's and Kahr all make quality stainless steel framed guns.

What trigger system to you prefer? SAO, DA/SA, DAO?

I like my Colt XSE Commander. You can buy it in either the "Combat Commander" for a stainless steel frame or the "Lightweight Commander" for an aluminum frame.

If you want to save some cash check out a "New Roll Mark" Colt 1991, Springfield Armory Mil-spec, or Springfield Armory GI. All of these models are available in stainless steel and are quite nice.

I happen to like the "basic look" of a 1911. No front slide serrations, angled slide serrations, beavertail grip safety, fancy hammers and triggers, and so on.

I also like the look of the fancy add ons. That's why I own both an Colt XSE and a Colt 1991.

I'm probably more comfortable with DA/SA and DAO, but I sometimes use my CZ 75B cocked and locked.

I don't know if you'd consider it high end, but the Smith and Wesson 5906 is four inches, carries 15 rounds, is stainless steel weighing in at around 38 oz and can be bought for as low as 325. From what i've read, it seems to have pretty favorable reviews, but i've never personally shot this model.

I like the single stack Smiths, 3917, Ladysmith, etc. However, I don't know much about S&W autos.

The Sig P232 has already been nominated. I'd like to add some special grips that really dress this up and provide a good gripping surface. (My P230 is the same gun, just an earlier version.)
