I was looking at .22 rifles in a local shop a couple days ago and came across this Star rifle. Iwas not aware Star made rifles, and i dont really know that much about their pistols. it was kind of beat up looking (used) but it had nice solid wood and a really nice trigger.
Any thoughts on this rifle? I might just get it for the trigger and see how it shoots.

Star made a 22 lr semi-auto rifle that was model 110.
I have never seen one; but I have several Star 22 lr pistols
that are well made. Magazines are currently available from
several vendors.
If you get the bolt action Star rifle, post some pictures.
There can't be too many of those around.

If I were you I would by a ruger 10/22. It is my faveroite semi-auto .22 because it as only jammed up once. My step dad has had a ruger 10/22 for years and has only had it jammed up only 3 times. Little more pricey gun but well worth every cent.

i think my dad has an old beat up star bolt action .22 lr. if i remember correctly it has a weird/cool looking wrap around checkered stock and a really short LOP. it has a pretty decent trigger, but about the worse sights i could ever ask for in a rifle. there is all kinds of room around the front sight, and the rear sight is mounted really far forward on the barrel. i have pbly only put 75-100 rds thru it, so i cant recomend it either way. all i know is it doesnt fit me particularly well, and i couldnt hit a darn thing with it (sights).

hmm, this one didnt seem to be a short stock, but i do remember the sights werent great. i wonder if someone did a trigger job on it, because thats what made me notice it, it was super short and crisp pull.
i'll go look at it again this week and see how cheap i could get it.
or ill cough up the cash for the cz 452 and go w/out food.:)
