My father-in-law had a Stevens 25-20 in his closet when he passed. It has an octagon barrell a drop block action and fold up/down peep sights... Can anyone give me info about this rifle?

Stevens made a whole raft of single-shot falling-block rifle models in the late 1800's / early 1900's.

Some are not worth much, and some are quite valuable.
And a lot also depends on condition.

It would be impossible to say what you have, or what it might be worth without more info.
And photo's would be good.

A dropping block Stevens .25-20 might be a No 44 or it might be a No 44 1/2 (It might be one of the older actions, but let's be optimistic here.) The 44 1/2 is stronger and more valuable.

And before you get excited and start buying ammunition for it, bear in mind that a lot of Stevens were chambered in .25-20 Single Shot which is not the same as .25-20 Winchester.

Oh boy.......well its really not in good shape...the hammer won't lock back and the block won't drop...heck its an abomination, I was just curious what it may "have been"!!! Thanks gents
