Stevens 301 Diagram

I was just brought a new Stevens 301 single shot that needs to be disassembled. I am "assuming" the trigger assembly and receiver parts are very much like the H&R and NEF shotguns but would like to see what is in there before I start punching pins. Anyone have any experience with these or have a line on a diagram? None to be seen from the manufacturer.

If it really is new, why hasn't the owner invoked Savage's warranty? ...just wondering.

I just poked around the company's web site and by gum there doesn't seem to be a way to download the user manual which would surely include a parts list and diagram. Try a phone call?

Nothing wrong with the gun. It's a new purchase the owner wants cerakoted. I just spoke with a gunsmith I know and I asked his advice - he suggested that I punt on this one. The $250 gun is not worth the potential trouble (ie safety first) it could cause. I'm tending to agree.
