Still no primers

With some exceptions - mostly very high demand hunting ammo and very low demand obsolete chamberings - it’s pretty obvious supplies of loaded ammo are improving, have improved, and the most common shooters ammo is coming down in price. I don’t expect to see $12/20 Remington .30-06 soft points this year - if ever. Then again, I don’t expect to see $1.75/gal hi-test this year either - if ever. We are seeing primers, though fewer and more costly, and loaded ammo, ditto; but the definition of “reasonable price” is a matter of personal opinion and highly subjective.
Agreed. At the gun show I was at yesterday, there was only one vendor with reloading stuff. And he had a lot of it, plus a lot of loaded ammo. All at high prices. $75 for a pound of powder, $150 for a brick of primers, $50 for 50 9mm Blazer range ammo, etc. 6 months ago, I'd guess he'd been moving a lot of product. But the 10 minutes or so we were around his table, I didn't see him sell anything, nor were many folks shopping his tables. And it was a fairly busy show. I attribute that to the supply starting to catch up to demand.

I have been unable to find large rifle primers for over a year no local gun/reloading stores have had any at all .When i get a notification that midway has some they are sold out .I stocked upon small rifle and pistol but was unable to get any large rifle i have a small reserve left of large rifle but not enough to do any serious reloading .Guess i will keep looking and hope they come back in stock .

Speaking of going price for primers today, I am a guitar player; the strings I normally use were not to be found (even through the manufacturer) for over a year and a half, and the only sets I did find were on Amazon at 5x the usual retail. Got a notice yesterday that they were in stock from a popular retailer and ordered 12 sets at the usual retail price. Thus I suspect it will be with primers and powder; if you can find 'em, you'll pay the going rate. Glad I stocked up just before the plague went nationwide; I am shooting, but sparingly.

If you really want a wake up call - and a reminder that shooting is just a hobby for so many people on this forum - look up “global chip shortage”. It makes the primer shortage seem trivial.

If you live in a city and depend on anything with a microprocessor, the chip shortage will hit you.
