Okay, so I'm wanting to add a new 22 rifle to the lineup. My experience with Ruger 10/22's has been limited to bone stock rifles and various friends' fully tricked out $1000 custom jobs.
I'm curious to see what people think of the stock ruger heavy barrel models ( http://www.ruger.com/products/1022Target/models.html ) vs a ruger with a custom VQ, shaw or some other maker's heavy barrel.
Is it going to be THAT much more accurate with a custom barrel as opposed to the factory heavy barrel? I'll be shooting paper and plinking, but no bulls-eye competitions or anything.
Thinks in advance for any opinions...
