I have a SxS Manhatton Arms 12 Ga. I need to remove the buttstock. There is no long screw/bolt under the butt plate. Top tang screw will only move slightly left and right.I don't want to strip out the slot. This is a double trigger model that does not have external hammers. It is beafy and solid and I have reason (from THR) to believe that LC Smith had something to do with it's manufacture. I am a shotgun Range Officer and would like to be more knowledgeable concerning these old scatter guns.

first off if I remember correctly I think the gun should be cocked with the safety on....remove trigger guard screw...pull up slightly on rear of guard and unscrew the guard about 1/4 to 1/2 turn.....under the trigger guard there is another screw that needs to be removed .....think you have to remove the floor plate also...cant remember if you have to remove the screw under the top lever or not but I think you do......and there are a couple coil springs in recesses in the face of stock you have to be aware of [so you don't loose them]..... remember its been a while since I have been inside of one but I think thats right....

BTW your Manhattan Arms is a private labeled Fulton made by Hunter Arms....the same folks that made the L C Smith....
