Does anyone have a Stoeger 2000 that can comment on it? Reliability, quality, etc?

I am looking for a new shotgun and already have a pump (Nova) so thought I would venture into the word of autos. I really like Benelli's, but not the price tag on them. I am liking the Super Black Eagle or M2. After a bit of reading I see the Stoegers use a similar interia recoil system and cost about half of the Benelli. Is the Benelli worth the premium? Primary use will be waterfowl and upland (pheasant) hunting.

I used to have one and consider them a great buy. I bought mine about 4 years ago and never had the 1st problem with mine in the 2 years I owned it. I only sold it because I ran across a steal on a used Benelli and someone offered to buy my Stoeger for more than I paid for it. I had planned on keeping them both until I got the offer to sell it at a profit.

I have both the old model and the new model 2000s. Though I like the new models much better, neither have given me a bit of trouble.

I have one of the newer ones. I didn't post in the HD Stoeger thread, since I have no experience with that one. However, I have a wood stock one with 28" barrel. Great shotgun at a great price. I bought mine for $399.00 at a sale at Dick's. Never had any issues with it.

I don't hesitate to recommend it.
