I've done my homework on the Stoeger's and they seem pretty hit or miss. All the same, they feel real good in my hands and shoulder nice and quick. There is a used AS NEW 12 gauge Stoeger Condor for $360 - there's no physical wear to the gun.

My question is, how much would YOU pay for a Condor? If you wouldn't ever dream of buying one and simply want to bash on them, please keep it to yourself. Like I said, I've already read the reviews.

I am also curious how difficult it is to swap out internal parts on O/U shotguns...just in case something does happen.

Thanks for your thoughts.

If YOU think it is worth that much, then buy it. Check around where you buy it or in your area for a good gunsmith and have him go over it. Many places will allow a three-day non-firing inspection of a used gun and it would be wise to have that done. As you noted, their rep is definitely hit or miss

The price is about right for an as-new condition Condor. Definitely see if you can test fire it, or have a smith check it out to make sure you aren't buying someones problem. As far as working on it yourself, it can be done, but is nowhere near as easy as a pump or auto. Many parts will require some fitting.

Thanks guys. The shop has a 30 day return policy, so if there was an issue, They'd probably make it right. I've never tested their policy, but I don't think I'd lose my shirt if the gun wasn't perfect. At least two of the employees are gunsmiths, so I don't think I'd be a problem.

$360 is fair for that gun. They're not in the same league as the big name O/Us, but at $360, you're paying slightly less than what you ought to for the quality of the gun.

i think i paid ~$400 for mine new....so $360 for a like new is not bad at all...

not the best fit and finished gun ive ever seen, but i can shoot 19-20's with it in trap and im not worried about getting it scratched or dinged.....so overall im pleased with it.

I'm shocked that by now somebody hasn't written u about how horrible entry-level o/u shotguns are and that u should always try to get a $3k Berreta, Benelli or Browning. I myself have a CZ canvasbag o/u that shoots about 1k shots per year because that's all I need from her, not 10, not 15, not 50k, just 1k. I'm very happy with her and I only spent $600.

Maybe you have read the OP's post more clearly then........

And just because a gun actually fires your cartridge, does not make it a good or bad gun. If it doesn't fit, if the quality is poor, the triggers gritty and heavy, the balance like a pig on a shovel, barrels shoot to two different time zones, etc..........it is not a good gun, no matter how much or how little you paid
