Nice big green has put forth so much effort into the design of much needed military weapons...(sarcastic) we really need more military/LE weapons, right...never mind the crap they are churning out in the civi sector...the corner of the market that makes the most money.

LMAO. Very true. Savage, Thompson/Center, and Marlin are kicking their butts in sporting arms quality and value while Cerebrus is running a wild goose chase trying to move into Colt's domain. I wonder how long it will be before DPMS' quality takes a hit? They're known for value and reasonable dependability among ARs (except from the Colt fanboies :D ) but I'll bet Cerebrus accounting will fix that. Those fools can tear up an anvil in a sandpit with a rubber hammer.

They probably accidentally leaked them on purpose because once SHOT starts, there's a lot of oxygen being sucked up by everyone and their dog, so why not get some buzz out a little early, to capitalize on the pre-SHOT excitement?

On the ACR - wow, it does almost everything the XCR does - and only 3 or 4 years later - cool!

i agree with one caveat. having this shotgun in use is beneficial for us because of the wording of both Heller and Parker. a short barreled shotgun would be "in common use" thus negating the "dangerous and unusual" aspect of the Heller ruling. the more companies that make shotties like this the better for us it is.

Yep, Bobarino is exactly right on that!

I have to say, I like the new M24, and it's big brother, the MSR. Now, if they'd just take the M24, shorten the handguard to half its length to save weight, get rid of the detachable mag in favor of a fixed one, and chamber it in .280 rem, and you'd have exactly what I want, for an all-purpose hunter & "tactical" rifle.

Wow they have a lot of great new products coming out. Doubt I will be able to afford any though...:)

^^ oh yeah....i have no doubt that a second or third mortgage will need to be taken out on any one of these things.

The Bushmaster ACR, a piston drive AR with looks very similar to the FN SCAR.

I like the looks of the Bushmaster ACR better than the SCAR.

The Adaptive Combat Rifle...ACR
Quick change barrels, removable handguards, barrels offered in 16", 14.5"and 11.5", Quick change stock from fixed to folding and a rail running across the entire top of the rifle, folding sights, adjustable cheek piece, winter trigger guard, M4 barrel(grenade launcher cut), flash hider, left side, non reciprocating charging handle with forward assist.

Calibers Lower #1..... .223, and the 6.8.

Calibers lower #2..... 7.62, .308 and the 6.5

The lower must be changed to accommodate the larger calibers due to magwell size.

I can't say how I got it...;)

But haven't you ever wondered why America's Oldest Gunmaker lacked the in-house expertise to assemble an AR-15, so they felt the need to buy not just one, but TWO companies that did?:D

Reality...Cerberus does not care about you or your gun fetish, they do not care about doing anything in-house and I would guess they might like to outsource the whole mess,
they only care about money, and how make more of it.

The AR's are hot right now...hey, let's buy up a few AR manufacturers, we'll get rid of the competition and we'll make a dollar!

AB...you used to be one of them thar super secret under the covers agents.....didn't you!?! KGBCIAFBIBATFETSA type... hey can you tell us who was on the grassy knoll?
....better yet, just where is Jimmy Hoffa!?! lol hehehehehehe

The problem is that this doesn't work for very long.

My father worked for Voit, which was probably the top sporting goods maker in the US, and they were bought by AMF, the 1960s/1970s version of Cerberus -- you know, the company that bankrupted Harley-Davidson and many others.

They figured they could take these companies, put cronies in top positions, engage in "cost-cutting", and live on the brands' past reputation. They deep-sixed a series of American companies that way, and from what I can see, Remington is on the same path under Cerberus.

I only hope that somebody else buys Marlin at some point. They make some guns that I'd really miss.

so is this thing going to be sold under the Bushmaster name or Remington? or both? i think it's a very cool gun and i'd be willing to sell my AR and get one but i think i'll wait a year or so to see what happens when it's in the public's hands and i see some first hand reports. i'm also not willing to pay $2k for it unless it comes with an EOTech or something. i guess i have that much into my AR but it's all decked out the way i want. guess we'll just have to wait and see. and what's with these countdown timer things? just release it already!

I agree, there is no other good alternative to their line of lever rifles IMO...I hope they do not turn the way of Big Green (bout too late to save them).

Interesting guns, hope they have other than Remington ammo for them.

That'll be in the ACR 2.0 upgrade. The rifle will do an EEPROM check on the magazine to make sure it is a genuine Remington product before allowing the rifle to load - to ensure the safety of the soldier and maximize user satisfaction, of course.
