strange brass flow

got several of these in a bag of once fired brass,any idea what may have caused it?

If you are referring to the circle, most likely from being used for factory load test and that is where the pressure transducer or crusher was.

Years ago I picked up some brass in several calibers from a fellow that all had that on them. They were all from factory load test. Not so much being high pressure test but setting up loads within a pressure parameter when changing powder lots or similar before running a string of ammo.

Yes, factory pressure tests. Supposed to be scrapped and not released to the fired brass market. I wouldn't load them.

Well I had a bunch of these in 30-06. I reloaded them probably 15 times before primer pockets got loose on most. They were annealed every three times and the rings disappeared after 3 or so reloads. None split or anything. YMMV

I've used the ones I had as well, I just kept the loads to the middle to low ends of the spectrum. Don't remember what if any issues I ever had with them.
