Streamlight TLR-1 HL battery door replace help?!

The hinge pin mount on the TLR-1 battery door broke so Streamlight sent out a new battery door and pin assembly. Installed the pin but the latch does not catch the assembly. Any tips-techniques how to get it to latch? I don't want to apply to much force and break this.
