study on guns/crime relationship

I haven't seen this on the boards, so figured I'd share. Appologies if it has been discussed before and I missed it.

Basic takeaway is that most rigorous studies find no distinct relationship between levels of gun ownership and crime. I know, not really news to most members of this forum.

There's no relationship between police budgets and crime rates either. Any police chief who says he need a budget increase or public safety will be at risk is lying and should be fired.
