As a few others have posted, I also shattered my record for breaking my New Year’s resolution. Mine was to hold off on buying another gun for a while. It lasted all of two days. o_O

I happened upon this “used” Browning BL-22 Micro Midas and just couldn’t say no. It had no box or papers, but if, and thats a big if, it had even a full box of 50 rounds fired through it I will be surprised. Zero marks on stock and the bluing is perfect with nothing showing on the hammer or magazine tube and just a hint of bluing wear on the sharp edges of the lever where it tucks into the receiver. Inside the chamber has no firing residues either.

(I covered the serial #.)

I can’t go shoot until next week. I plan on bringing the new Browning, along with the Marlin 39A my Dad gave me and a Henry 20” and 16.5” youth, to see how they all compare.

I don’t claim to be an oak when it comes to will power, but I was amazed at how quickly I folded. I guess I just couldn’t say no when I saw this one.

Maybe 2024’s resolution will last…hopefully I can make it all of January .

Stay safe.

Can't blame you for folding under pressure. It just lets us know you are weak and human like most of us. Had a lot of us been there at the same time there could have been a riot. Congratulations and it is one pretty rifle.

Well, at least you caved for a beautiful rifle. Can’t go wrong with a Browning, I’m sure it will shoot as good as it looks.

Good luck with your new gun!

My personal philosophy would be to hold out for something really special, not just buying because it was an OK deal. Really special rifle or screaming deal

At one time I was in exactly the same situation. A really nice Browning Grade II .22 with a 2-7 scope for $200 OTD. It came home with me

that is a really nice rifle

Look at how well the wood on that matches itself? Very nice. I'd have trouble putting that back as well. Now you know, if you really want to stick to that resolution, you'll have to figure out how you happen onto finds like that and break the habit earlier in the process...

That's a justifiable reason for breaking a New Year's resolution; in my book, anyways. When I retired, I made a similar resolution that lasted about 3 weeks before I came across a used Ruger Single Six convertible with both cylinders and a "can't say no" price tag at the LGS. My main excuses were that it takes up very little room in the gun safes, and the price was great. In the long run I'd bet that you will not regret getting that sweet little Browning. I have no regrets whatsoever on that Single Six and even if I did I'm sure I could sell it for more than it cost me a few years ago.
