Moderator, can you look into the other thread with same title? Not sure what happened to the content. Can you delete it? Thanks

I am in the market to buy a stun gun. I have been to several sites and all have claimed that their stun gun is the most powerful stun gun. For example: http://cheetahstungun.com/ claims that they have one that is 2.5 volts.

Only thing is, when I asked them to prove the voltage, like the one above 2.5 million volts, they stop emailing me back. So my question is, how can one verify if it actually generating that much voltages or if it is all hyped.

If it is all hyped, someone should come in and closes these guys down for fraud and false advertisment.

Stunguns suck they are nothing more than scary toys.
Also remeber that it is not the Volts that do the job its the Ampere.

anything above .35 {or something} milli amps would shut you down whether 50,000 volts of 2.5 million.

so yeah it is the volts kinda in this case

a good friend once held a 100,000 volt stun gun up aginst my chest for over 7-8 seconds whilst we wrestled for it and I ended the contest via flurry of head butts to the side of his head.

ive played with the 300k volt ones and bigger and I dont think I would have been fighting for the thing or trying to use strikes had it been one of those.

the 100k and under ones are kinda like the coloring needle/s during the tattoo process, sucks but you can take it if need be

If you want a conducted energy weapon don't screw around with pocket stunners get a Taser. The Taser C2 or X26c will serve you far better than any internet special pocket stunner. The Taser gives you the option of reaching out to 15 feet or you can carry it as a pocket stunner, but the Taser products are proven. Believe me, I've been tased twice in training scenarios and I've tased several in live situations. Bottom line, they work.

Thanks guys.:cool:

I did a search on "stun gun" on TheHighRoad messageboard after posting this thread last night. I realized reading all the posts that showed up that a majority finds stun guns to be petty. Tasers and Sprays were mentioned numerous times.

I know tasers work from the testimonies but I won't get one because the cost is not within my budget right now. Plus, do you have to replace the air cartridge over a long period of time if you don't use it? Will it be safe and legal if my gf to leave it in her car (hot weather) or her purse?

I am looking into sprays now. Do you have any recommendations? I heard several good brands such as Fox and Mace. What should I be looking for in sprays?

I am still disappointed :fire: :cuss: that these fakes are out there making these outrageous voltage claims. I heard the only company that lists their specs is the Taser company.

BTW... What does OC stands for sprays?

The cartridges are durable.

Legality is very dependent upon your jurisdiction. It's legal most places but not everywhere.

Some friends of mine and I had a chance to go hands on with a Taser C2 not long ago. And after doing that, if I wanted to carry a Taser I would be very very aware of all the ways it could go bad. That means I'd not just buy one cartridge to go with the unit. I'd buy several, and would commit to testing with them so I understood what it was & was not capable of doing for me. From personal observation, I'd say that the ways the police use these puppies is just about unbeatable and undefeatable. But the ways a civilian has to or is likely to use them actually creates several significant weaknesses. I won't go into detail. But the weaknesses are there.

BTW... What does OC stands for sprays?

Oleoresin capsicum (not sure of the spelling of the latter).

Oleo = it's a type of fat
resin = it's sticky
capsicum = it's spicy and comes from a type of pepper.

More info about OC spray here: www.corneredcat.com/Gear/pepperspray.aspx

Hope it helps.

You mean my ink pen sized stun gun isn't going to do the job?:uhoh:

Guess I'll stick to the XD.

You shouldn't have to replace the cartridges just due to time, the cartridge in my Taser at work is dated from 2006 and I have no doubt it will fire when I need it. They basically work like this: the probes inside the cartridge are fire at an angle to create a larger affected area on the target. 7- 15 ft is optimum range at the 7 ft range the spread is approximately 13 inches, at the 15 ft range the spread is approximately 26 inches. A probe spread of 13 or more inches will drop the BG in his tracks just about every time, and if it doesn't drop him it will significantly impair him. They are uneffected by heat so leaving it in the car is not an issue.

As far as sprays go there are four basic rules IMO:
1) Stick to name brand stuff, particularly products from Aerko Int'l, Foxlabs, Mace and Sabre.
2) Check the SHU rating. Don't buy a product that doesn't have a SHU rating on it, percentage of solids is unreliable. Buy nothing less than 2 million SHU and nothing more than 10 million SHU to avoid chemical burns.
3) BUy liquid stream or gel stream spray pattern, do not buy anything that says cone or fogger or vaporizer. Liquid and gel streams give the best distance, accuracy and wind resistance. Cones and foggers disperse easily in anything over a 5 mph wind.
4) Stick to caontainers that are 1.5 ounces or larger(depending on legality in your area). These containers have enough product in them to get the job done and have some left just in case.

My wife carried a 1.5 oz container of Freeze +P by Aerko Int'l for years. It's a 2 million SHU OC/CS tear gas blend and she did used it. The BG ran away screaming like a little girl throwing a temper tantrum. The best part was that Freeze +p has a dye in it for identification of the BG by police so after my wife gave her report the cops checked out the bar nearby just on a hunch and sure enough here's this dude with orange dye all over his face and shirt. He was arrested on the spot. The next BG won't be so lucky as my wife now carries a 3913 Lady Smith.

The only stun device you should ever buy is GENUINE TASER BRAND ELECTRONIC CONTROL DEVICES FROM SCOTTSDALE AZ BASED TASER INTERNATIONAL. They have the patented neuromuscular incapacitation shaped pulse technology. TASER BRAND DEVICES ARE USED BY OVER 13 thousand police agencies in 40 countries.

The voltage is the distance that the spark can jump and has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the device. For example 50,000 volts is the voltage needed for the spark to penetrate 2 cumulative inches of clothing. Because Taser Brand devices are the exclusive stun guns that cause neuromuscular incapacitation they are the only ones that can be depended on. Yes they are $350.00- $1000.00 dollars but the cost is well worth it. Don’t buy some cheap stun gun with million volt claims. It’s just marketing crap. Get a Taser C2 and you won’t be disappointed.

YOu can now pay for the Taser C2 in 8 payments of 43.95.
