Stupid Buckmark

I bought my Browning Buck Mark Camper over two years ago. Early on, I took it apart and cleaned it once. I discovered that the recoil spring assembly wasn't correctly installed from the factory, so I made the correction upon reassembly. I haven't cleaned it for about two years. It is the only pistols that is always in my range bag. My co-workers use it every month during our monthly Adobe Shooters League events. It has at least 5,000 rounds through it without cleaning, perhaps more, and it's still going strong, meaning reliable and accurate. It prefers the Federal 550-round bulk packs from Wal-Mart. At this point, I am afraid to clean it, for fear that it will affect its accuracy and/or reliability. I had the "loose screws" problem only once, and simply tightening them down did the trick. I didn't need to use any loc-tite.

Mine is a standard Camper (all-black), but I had all of the steel parts (everything except for the frame, because it's aluminum) hard chromed by Tripp Research right after I bought it. I had wanted a nickel version, but none were available at the time, and Browning was saying six months. A co-worker bought a nickel version last year, and I like the hard-chromed look better.

I am very happy with this pistol.

Call it a poor habit..LOL..I clean my Micro after each range session..Habit i guess..I always carry an allen wrench in my shooting bag..The screws only come loose rarely..And I agree it does seem to like the higher quality ammo....

It use to be you bought quality ammo period in 22's...But the times'' have change...LOL..I also own a Belg. Challenger (Did all my Colledge matches with)..It easily stayed up to the SW 41's and high Standards. Always wanted a Colt match though....Shot alot of them...The Challenger was better...

I also own a Nomad I pick ed up used (Great shooter)..and the Last attempt by Colt in the 22 market..The Colt Target....They all have been reliable..My brother has a Ruger 22/45..Can't throw mud on it either....

I always fall back to the Buckmark though..It just feels like my 1911 so much..

Have friend who owned a standard and Silo...The Silo was very picky about ammo..Would jam or fail to fire ..A LOT...He swapped slides and both worked fine till he sold them for another toy...

My two Cents Folks..

Be Safe

I have both a Ruger Mk2 and Buckmark Micro, used to have a Buckmark standard also. The Buckmark is far and away my favorite. Mine doesn`t care for Federal cheapo bulk ammo but any other brand is fine. The factory trigger is outstanding and accuracy is great,I love it! As for the "loose screw problem",it`s an owner defect not a gun defect. Either tighten the screws properly or buy a $1.39 tube of Loctite. Marcus
