I have been looking at pistols for weeks trying to find a 9mm Subcompact with a thumb saftey that holds at least 10 rounds that would I will be able to carry IWB as my first CCW. The two I have handled and liked are the Taurus Millenium PT111 and the Ruger SR9C. I am also interested in the Beretta PX4 SC and the CZ Rami. Is there any other pistols that I should be looking at? I really don't want to debate why I want a thumb safty I would rather compare the size of these pistols. I am most concerned with width, weight and the overall dimensions. I loved the size and feel of the Taurus but I am sceptical of them. Anybody have any insight on these or comarison pics? I haven't handled the Rami or PX4 so I am wondering how they compare in size to the Millenium and SR9C. Thanks

I haven't seen a M&P9c, how does it compare size wise? I would be interested in that one as well.

Thanks for the reply's. Does anybody own more than one of these guns that can give some of thier likes/dislikes?

Try a S&W CS9. Light weight (20oz) and reliable. Easily concealed.

Less expensive, and thinner than an M&P compact with a way better trigger too. TJ

JMOFO:

H&K P2000sk. (V3)

The most accurate, and reliable 9MM pistols I've ever owned, or even shot are the HK P7, and the P2000sk V3. (V3 is the TDA version w/hammer).

Pricey, but absolutely IN MY OPINION the finest 9's on the planet.. IMO. ;)

The classic P7 doesn't fit your requirements, but the TDA P2000sk V3 should quite nicely..

Additionally should you chose you can use the 13rd mags of the larger P2000 (w/Xgrip adapter) and get a 13+1 capacity, and a nice grip for those folks with large hands..

Best Wishes,

Jesse

Kahr makes a new model PM9 with a safety. That's pretty small.
Yeah, you can now buy one in their home state.

Edit: Also my PM9 (no safety) has been nothing short of awesome.

My carry 9mm is a Glock 26, but after playing with the Ruger SR9C, I am saving my pennies and trying to decide if any of the other guns in my safe look like they could use a new home. :)

Thanks for the replies, i am hope to get to a few more gun shops this weekend. I really like the Taurus's for feel and price but I don't know about thier reputation. For those of you with the 709's and Millenium Pro's what have you thought of them? I have been calling around trying to find the M&P9c with the safety but cant seem to locate one. It really looks nice. I will have to check out hte HK's also. Keep the recommendations coming.

150 rounds through my wife's Taurus PT709 Slim with one stoppage due to a case not fully ejecting. I used my support hand to sweep it away and continued to fire. Great little gun for concealed carry and SUPER light. I would like to see Pierce make an extension for it though, but I have bigger hands.

I just recently picked up the stainles PT709 for my wife's concealed. Its great, lightweight, many of the same features of a Glock, with an added manual safety. It doesn't fit your 10 round requirement though, I believe its 7+1, but the mags are so small you could easily carry a few extras. Its very small, concealable and lightweight. I have not put many rounds through it yet, but I have not had a failure yet. Its accurate, better sights than some guns that small. I bought it for the wife, but I may have to buy another one for myself to carry in the summer. Budsgunshop.com has a good price on them.
