Purpose: plinking, hunting, non-competitive target shooting
What I'd like:
- threaded barrel
- steel breech
- lightweight (ideally under 1.5 lbs)
- I'm interested in being able to feed almost anything and I'm also interested in accuracy and I understand those don't mix well so put me on the fence
I've found two so far that meet those criteria:
KIDD .22lr Ultra Light weight barrel for the 10/22® or Ruger® 10/22® (kiddinnovativedesign.com)
10/22 Barrel Threaded | Nitride Barrel | Rifle Barrels (faxonfirearms.com)
I think the Kidd would be more picky and more accurate, the Faxon should be less picky and no word on accuracy but it has a sporter chamber. Outside of those two everything I see either meets the LW criteria but looks to have an aluminum breech, or are made of stronger stuff but with the heavy weight to match. Any others I should be looking at?
