I have a very early pre-war N frame 38/44 heavy duty that I finally figured out the crane is slightly bent. The gun has 3 cylinders that are rough in DA and 3 that are smooth as silk. After several months of trying to figure out why, I finally saw that the crane/cylinder are very slightly out of round. The crane is slightly bent. I would bet at some point someone "Bogarted" the gun. SIGH.

The gun is a very early heavy duty and has a fair amount of personal attraction, so I want it done right by someone who knows what to do.

Anyway, after a quick search, I did not find any black and white recommendations. So who would you trust a 1930 Heavy Duty to straighten the crane?

Thanks.

Joe,

Thats exactly who I was thinking about. I figured I would see what the current state of the experts had to say though before I shipped it off. I did get a suggestion of a local guy who is quite good. I may talk to him first.

Thanks again

Pete
