My local fun store is selling AR lower receivers by 3 different manufacturers for a pretty good deal so I wanted to pick one up since I wanted to build another AR later this year. (havent worked out exaclty what I want so I am tkaing my time.) I was also looking to get a S&W MP .22. they look slick and I have been told good things by people I know. Just wanted to know if I alreay have a lower that I might not use for a little while can I find a quality .22 upper to slap on it for the time being instead of getting an entirely different rifle.

Any suggestions?

Try tactical solutions (tacsol).

However for the price that some of the uppers are going, you may want to invest in a complete .22 like the S&W or even the SIG 552.

I have a tactical solutions upper. Works great, is accurate, and mucho fun.

If CMMG was available when I was shopping, I think I would go that way. The last round bolt hold open is a nice feature.

Spikes Tactical makes a nice upper as well, and I have used their conversion kit. But the dedicated .22 upper is more accurate with the correct twist rate.
