Looking for owners of the Savage Scout rifle who can tell me their combination of rings and scope. I'm looking for the combinations on either the Burris or Leupold Scout scope, and would prefer quick detachable, quality rings with a lever. They don't have to be top notch, $150.00 rings, but what are my options in the $30.00 to $80.00 range? Also, do the Butler Creek flip open lens covers affect the anything, such as ring height that is required?

Any other tips on this setup appreciated as well.

Thanks for any input,
EricO

I don't own a Savage Scout but I do have a custom Enfield Scout and a Marlin Guide Gun in scout configuration. They both have Leupold Scout Scopes.
I strongly recommend the Warne QD rings. They are very robust, well made and always return to zero within 1moa.
I hunted hard with the Marlin for the past 2 years. The scope has been on and off the rifle numerous times in the field. When I went to the range the other week to confirm that I still had a good zero I posted a nice 1" group about 3/4" to the right of the bull.
They run about $40 if I remember correctly.
You want your scope as low as possible so theoretically, scope caps could make a difference. I don't think you would have any issues mounting a proper scout scope in low Warne QD rings using the Butler Creek caps.

The rings in the picture aren't Warnes. They have since been replaced.

Thank you for the input Jaeger. Do you happen to remember the model #'s for the Warne QD rings that worked with your Leupold? Love your Enfield by the way!
