Super Blackhawk! thoughts

I have one, 1978 vintage. It's a fantastic shooter with just about anything I load for it, mild to wild. I have a Hogue rubber grip on for when I hunt or shoot full power loads. Wood grips go back on the rest of the time for their stunning good looks and shooting specials

One of the finest meat hammers ever devised. Aftermarket grips make all the difference with the Dragoon grip frame.

This one started out as a plain 7.5" Bisley version.

This one was once just a regular 4 5/8" plowhandled Super. Then it became a Bisley Super. Then it become something more, with an octagon barrel, linebored and oversized 6-shot cylinder and all the trimmings of the custom five-shot guns. While most people think of the .44Mag as a 240gr at 1200fps, this one will sling a 355gr at 1350fps.

Hi...
I have a couple of SBH in .44Magnum and they are accurate strong well made revolvers.
10.0gr of Unique under a 240gr coated LSWC is a good load that I can shoot all day if I choose. Heavy near book max JHP loads with H110 and Hornady HP/XTPs I try to limit to no more than 50 rounds per day.
I also shoot a couple of Virginian Dragoons and a Dan Wesson in .44Magnum, so ten rounds of the heavy stuff through each one is enough.

you got sone pretty guns!!

My two Super Blackhawks.
The scoped one was a gift from my wife for our first Christmas together in 1990.
A friend of mine helped her pick it out.

TSOB mount with Leupold M8 2x scope. It is quite accurate.

The stainless mostly gets fired with .44 Specials. It is quite a handful with magnums.
I’ve had it since 1997.

BP guys made a Black Hawk joke being the best thing since 1911 and would not let me in the joke. I get it, you have to earn your club dues.

anyways! will probably put one on layaway jail. photos of the bad boy Wednesday

Who cares what anyone says really, Super Blackhawk is a great piece
That said, shop around a bit, and save yourself up a little cheddar, unless you got your heart set on new. They are fairly common and some very nice ones come up quite often. I handled a new Blackhawk 45 at a"Box" store the other week, and honestly I think I'll try to get another sweet used one of around the vintage of my Super Black. A new stainless model ...o yea, right now. I personally didn't care for the blued with hard rubber grip.
