Just looked at the Ruger website. The 9mm Super GP100's page is completely gone. The .357 Magnum page is still up but it says "Currently Unavailable." Is Ruger done with this?

I contacted Ruger regarding a model #5050 Redhawk in .45 ACP / .45 Colt. It was listed as “currently unavailable”. Maybe it still is. The person who responded to my inquiry said that Currently Unavailable means none are in stock and none are in the process of being manufactured. If the gun was no longer going to be made it would be listed as “Discontinued” then eventually removed from their pages.

Any decent gunsmith could convert 45 Colt Redhawk or S&W into 45 Colt / 45 ACP. I know, it will cost somewhat, but it could be done.

Just found:

Model 25-7 .45 Colt: Can it be converted to .45 acp?

You can send the cylinder to TK Custom or Pinnacle and they will
cut it so You can shoot both rounds. Runs just under $300.00

Having said that there were only a couple thousand 25-7's made.
They are known for being VERY good shooters. So being a small
number, I'd check with Smith and see if they will still install a 45
colt cylinder on your gun then send it off. Will cost a bunch but...
Then do conversion with no harm nor foul.

BTW, is 45 ACP cylinder on S&W 25 shorter than 45 Colt? Talking about dimension from ratchet to front end.

Thanks very much. I was aware of this. I was just commenting on the verbiage Ruger uses on their website.
I have a 25-15 .45 Colt and have considered converting it to shoot both .45 ACP and .45 Colt.
I have a .45 Ruger New Vaquero that I had a .45 ACP cylinder made for it. That costs about $150.

@Yujun Something else I meant to mention. When stock at Ruger is dwindling they list guns as “Limited Availability” like here:

I didn't know Ruger still made revolvers except for the wrangler. Haven't seen a Blackhawk or Redhawk in a shop for years.

According to https://www.guns.com/news/2020/05/27/smith-wesson-model-25-45-wheel-gun-extraordinaire :

Looks like purchasing M25 in 45 Colt, and adding factory 45 ACP cylinder wouldn't work. The only way is to purchase M25 in 45 ACP and fit /shorten 45 Colt cylinder. In that case, 45 Colt cylinder will be quite short, maybe too short for standard 45 Colt SAAMI ammo.

IMO, if somebody likes both 45 Colt and 45 ACP, the best way is to get one M25 in 45 Colt, and another in 45 ACP.

Or, just purchase one of those Ruger NM BH combo revolvers with both cylinders.

I’m buying today a TRR8 smith and Wesson “tacticool” revolver.. it’s price is up in the super GP range. I would have bought the super if there was one to buy. Few more TRR8/R8 guns out there. Love me some rugers though. Best gun in the safe is a match champion at this time. It literally can jagged hole AT WILL!

If demand rather than supply is the issue, Ruger many switch to doing this version as a distributor special. The No.1 single shot has been staying in their catalog this way for years, so there's precedent.
All the revolver manufacturers who also make semi autos have cut back on revolver production and have been for years. They'll offer their cheapest and most popular revolvers, but the less popular and/or pricey ones get put on backorder for when other orders are fulfilled.

When there's a change in the White House the orders will be caught up and the buying craze will be over.

In the meantime we're stuck with what we've been stuck with for another 2 years, which is why none of my revolvers on my list has come off it in the last 3 years: because it's not available.

It's basically a Super Redhawk with a Redhawk style barrel. They're ugly because it's a competition oriented revolver. They lightened the cylinder to reduce rotating mass. They're expensive because they come from the custom shop. I'm still waiting for a big bore version.
