I have been trying out Trailboss in several of my firearms. Yesterday I tried it in a 32-20 rifle.
I used 2.8 grains of the powder to launch a Hornady 90 grain SWC. This load, according to the data, produces a bit over 800 feet per second from a 5.5 inch barrel. With the rifle's 22 inch barrel , it might be at 900. Yes, I know the only way to verify velocity is with a chronograph. There was no supersonic crack.
In all my other guns, the sights or scope were way off for the TB loads. With my 32-20, at fifty yards, the first two shots were only about three inches low, perfect for windage. I clicked the scope up and fired three more shots.
These three shots measured a hair over three-quarters on inch, dead center.
The first trigger pull of these shots I had forgotten to pull my ear muffs over my ears. The shot was so quite, I didn't really notice at first. It sounded like the rifle usually does with muffs on. Then the next two shots were fired with ear protection in place. Now it sounded like an air rifle. I good even here the bullets contact the target.
A 90 grain slug at 900 feet per second is like a super pellet gun. A pellet gun on steroids if you will.
