I need help to make clear this out. What is a different between Super Vepr, and Hunter Vepr.
I have been told the Super Vepr is available in 7.62X54R . I can't find it anywhere. It is only in .308? Is it exist ?
What I found is the Hunter, what is very close to the Super. I been told also the "Super" is much better quality than Druganov style 7.62X54R
I attached a photo , I put it together to see the different.

Will you guys help me out?

Looks like the Super Vepr has a different, thumbhole-type stock, the Hunter has a scope rail already attached, Hunter has a fluted barrel, and the magazine looks different, are they all in 7.62x54 or is the Hunter in .308?

I want to get one, because of the cost of the ammo and what everybody tells me about their quality. Is it any other brand, would be referred by you guys in this caliber?

That specific super veper seems to be in 308 win. Ths straight mag would not work well with the rimmed 7.62x54r cartridge. The hunter has a curved mag for the 54r cartridge. Both look to be super nice rifles. May have to look into one of these for cheaper plinking.

After looking at some rifles and deals, they aint so cheap... But beautiful rifles none the less. Although, for that price, id rather have a nice m1a. Kinda looks like a russian styling of an m1a rifle.

They make the Standard and the Hunter in 7.62x54.

The difference is the type of stock, and the length of the barrel. Just read the various descriptions. Which barrel length you want might depend on the caliber you get. Surplus 7.62x54 has really slow-burning powder, and needs a longer barrel to get a full burn. A 20" barrel with that caliber will produce large, blinding fireballs out of the muzzle (as on an M38 or M44 Nagant). You would probably be better off with the Standard version, which has a 23" barrel, with that caliber. Even then you will probably get plenty of flash.

However, with most .308 loads, you can go down as short as 18" before you start seeing major muzzle flash/velocity drop issues. A shooting buddy of mine has a Super Vepr in .308 with an 18" barrel, and it does fine. He has killed a lot of deer with that thing.

The rear sight and safety are different as well. Both of those rifles are sexy and although not cheap they sare on the lower side of autoloaders in .308.
