I would like to get a suppressed ruger 10/22. This would be a new gun for me and I would like to get some info on what to do.

What trigger group?
What barrel?
What stock?
What scope to use?
Anything else?

Thanks..

So far as barrels, there's two really different ways you can go:

-Integrally suppressed (silencing baffles built right into the barrel)
-Threaded barrel (screw on/off a separate suppressor)

My understanding is that integrals can be quieter, but clearly aren't as versatile since you can't switch them around. Integrals also help with length, since they can be only 10" of rifled barrel and 6" of suppressor and still not be an SBR, since the suppressor is permanently part of the barrel.

There is an interesting compromise solution from a company called Tactical Solutions:

That shroud is permanently attached, but the can can be taken in and out with the barrel still being "over 16" ", so no SBR legal issues.

Alternately, you can get a standard barrel and get it threaded, or add a quick-detach adaptor to the end of the barrel.

I have one, it is a blast. I had the factory barrel threaded by someone I found on ebay selling the service. It worked great. I've since gotten a Tactical Innovations barrel with a 1 in 9 twist to stabilize the Aguila 60 grain SSS ammo, it came threaded. It works fine with the 40 grain stuff too.

I have a suppressed 10/22 but don't really care for it. Since I got a suppressed .300 Whisper it hasn't been shot. Why throw a puny 40 or 60 grain projectile when you can throw a 240 grain? When shooting subsonic the Whisper is the way to go.

Sure, but even handloading that's running you, what, 12-15c per shot? Even the Aguila SSS subsonic (relatively expensive) is only about 8c per shot, to say nothing of supersonic bulk fodder that's 3c per shot.

how about selling your suppressed .22 to somebody who is looking for one. Like me, if you don't care for it. Just a thought.....

is the 300 whisper just a downloaded load?

how low can you load a 168 bthp in .308 and what powder is needed? oh wrong forum...but if anyone has an idea?
