I have a couple of questions about sound suppressors...

Assuming the use of subsonic ammo and similar quality suppressors, will there be any difference in the sound made from a 45 ACP versus 9mm Luger?

Is there a way to use the same suppressor in 45 ACP on a 1911 and on a Glock 21?

Sorry if these are stupid questions...

If the barrel threads allow the suppressor to be mounted, you can employ it on any .45 ACP firearm.

The 9mm will be quieter. This is due to the fact that with the 45, you have a larger exit hole which allows a larger amount of the gases out of the suppressor. Although the Osprey from SilencerCo is making good inroads with 45 ACP. I shot my Impuls II side by side with an Osprey and the Osprey was slightly quieter dry than the Impuls was wet. Shot wet the Osprey was noticeably quieter.

As already noted, as long as the barrels are threaded the same, you can do this. The 1911 though tends to run better with suppressors that have a Neilson device or booster on them. Not sure how well the Glock functions with a suppressor.
