I only buy SureFire and Streamlight 123A batteries. Both claim a shelf life of, what, some 10 years?
I needed to switch out the batteries in one of my Fenix led lights. It holds 2 123A lithiums. I put in two brand-new SureFires and, after 30 frustrating minutes, was able to determine that the new batteries were dead.
I've not had this happen before with either SureFire or Streamlight and thought it to be very odd. The batteries are about 4 years old.
Anyone else had a similar experience? Maybe I just got a bad batch? Maybe too old? They were stored according to manufacturer's recommendations. SureFire's quality control is, in my opinion, exceptional, so I don't know.
Thanks,
