Surefire EarPro - Good for Range?

I prefer electronic earpro, but these are good too though. We used these in Iraq with our radio's as ear pieces, so we didn't have to use the conventional handmics.

used these for a short time. As a fire arms instructor I spend hours with hearing protection in my ears and I found these sure fire plugs would begin to irritae my ear canals after about 45 mins. I tried both the large and medium sizes, but neither was any better. I finally spent the cash on going to an audiologist and have an custom silicone set made. I can wear them for 6 or 7 hours with no discomfort... cost was about $80 out the door with the molds and the set of plugs made in less then an hour.
