If you need both a utility light and a bright light, you should have a look at the SF Aviator

A more reasonably priced alternative is the PILA GL2 flashlightlights $70.00 compared to about $150 for the surefire. I have and like other surefirers and would rate the quality on this as the same ( So far I have only had it for about 2 months ) .

I found mine at http://www.actiongear.com

I'll try the link thingy but I am NOT a compugeek ( unfortuently )

An even more reasonably priced alternative is the Streamlight Twin-Task for less than $30.

I really like my SF 6P. For me, it's just the right size and shape, and fits on my duty belt without hangups. More than that, though, is that it has a known reputation for quality that I just don't hear about in the Pelican M6, Pila, or Streamlight.

Don't get me wrong, I would like to have a cheaper light that's just as good or better than the Surefire. Unfortunately, when it comes to spending big money like that, I want to see it, feel it, test it, read about it, before shelling out the greenbacks.

Of course, I am also finding that lights (or personal illumination devices) are becoming rather addictive. I was just down at the local gunshop and saw a SF M3 Millenium (?).....got me thinking how useful that would be if I ever got a defensive shotgun.....

I'm gonna have to find me a cheap, boring hobby.
