I have my sights set on a 2 3/4" bbl SW model 500 I saw at my local gun shop. It is a pretty short barrel. Portation advantages noted. Has anyone tried shooting this particular revolver, given the short barrel, and developed an opinion on its accuracy? Any noted keyholing on targets etc. Thanks.

Can't say for sure but it should be about the same as the 4 inch model which is really a 3 inch barrel with a comp. I have a 4 inch 500 waiting for me to get home, get to try it out in April, can't wait.

Handload, load it down, work your way up. It is extremely accurate. I can do 6-7 in ch groups at 50 yards with my shorty .500, and my loads are a 385gr. JHP @ 1150fps.
