I will let you know as the date approaches P95. If I don't have anything else going on that weekend that is closer to home, and I can muster up the initiative to make the drive, i'll load the trunk up with long guns and ammo(note no pistols due to lack of a PA carry permit) and perhaps some food. But, i'll be sure to let you know in advance.

Yup, put me down for several assorted cases of soda/pop. I'll grab some bottled water as well. I figure single-serving cans/bottles are easier to handle than 2-liter bottles and cups. I'll throw in a couple of trash bags for cleanup. Range box coming along, and I'll bring a spotting scope.

How are we fixed for targets?

Looking forward to it. My shootin'g irons aren't very exotic, but I'll bring what I can, including a Rem 700 VSSF in .308 that's a sub-MOA shooter and at least one AR. My shotty will be a Savage 24 .22mag/20gauge combo. Never tried clays with it ... ought to be fun.

jobu - you don't need a CCW to transport them - in PA anyways - as long as unloaded - ammo separate etc - I could see no prob at all. Permit only needed for CCW and carry loaded in vehicle. If you can transport with NY restrictions at home then PA no more of a problem!

Anyways - yeah - just give a shout nearer the time.

Legionnaire - good, yep - cans or small bottles ideal for soda. Trash bags - well no space needed so good idea again if needed. Spotting scope again good - I have two, one crap one good and if we have others then probably have one for each bench if lucky.

Ahhh targets - yep - handy if most folks can throw in a few - I have some orange stickers and some targets but - better to have and not need - as they say!

Hey - ''exotic'' factor for shootin' irons ain't mandatory! Bring what you can and like - and I'll bring my FAL - if you wanna put a bit of .308 thru that.

Chris,

The 110 is in 30'06. I'll bring some commercial 30'06 ammo, but it seems to like the Lake City surplus the best  It's been boresited but I'm not sure that helped.....it seems to be something funky with the ammo choice as the commercial stuff was all over the place but the LC was MUCH better....though it was very difficult to extract the case.

For all:

I have a spotting scope as well. I'll also bring a box of clays and some targets.

Yikes....I need to get down to the Bass Pro and get some stuff and also need to order that limbsaver pad for the Savage so that we can all lift our arms on Sunday morning.

Chris,

Lead is in the for of cast bullets that were either rejected or pulled. I only have a few months worth, but your more than welcome to it.

Do you mind using 45 Colt cases in your 454? I have about 40 300 grain Sierra soft points and some virgin 45 Colt cases I could load. Let me know.

David

David - well thx in advance for the lead if spare.

The .454 and your 45LC ammo - not a problem - that many won't start much of a ring I don't think - so if you have those and wanna load - and shoot em thru it - go ahead. No probs. Maybe shoot those after I've shot some screamers and then a slight ring won't matter anyways.

Good News/Bad News

Good:

I should have my brand spanking new Colt 6920 for the meet. In fact, the meet will probably be the first time I fire her. Best case, I'll be able to pick her up on Wednesday. Worst case, Friday.

Bad:

I have maybe 130 rounds of .223/5.56mm and no funds to replenish until mid-June.

Ah well. :) Someone tell me what food/drinks to bring.

Good news re the Colt - in fact excellent. I'll bet we'll all want to drool!

Ammo? - would that accept Russian stuff - cos I have some spare? Just for plinking. Otherwise I just have a currently fairly limited supply of Am Eagle .. mostly for Contender. Let me know and I'll bring the Russian if of use... my Mini does not get on with it too well.

Food and drink? To make it simple - put in some stuff enough for yourself and tad over - that way we should have a good selection and qty when we cook up - later in day. Thrown in a sandwich or two for earlier on. A few cans of soda too would be great (anything but ''Diet'' - but that's just me!)

Beren - I have a fair amount of WWB and some UMC .223 .

Plus I have about 150 rounds of the Natec PCA ammo and my AR loves the stuff.

Sounds like we'll have enough between all of us.

If I decide to come, would it be alright if I brought a friend along?
Jobu - I can't see any problem, as long as he/she is responsible. Let me know for sure tho before time will ya - thus far numbers are fairly modest but, still be good to know who to expect..

Ray and I will be reckoning to officially start about 10.00pm - so, no need for anyone to rush to get there early or even by then.... by midday even will still leave a good amount of time.

Ok well I was walking one of my boys through the guns in one of their "I wanna look at the guns" days and came up with a list of what I'm gonna be bringing. If it's too long Chris or if I came up with doubles of what others are bringing lemme know and I'll cut it down. It's just a bunch of stuff I haven't fired for quite a while and should. I also left off a mauser action so if anyone wants to shoot one lemme know and I can bring either a k98, a Chilean 1912/61, or a Swede M96. Oh and if someone else wants to bring something that they have that matches my list lemme know and I'll cut mine out.

M1 Garand 30-06
M1 Garand .308
M1 Carbine
Mosin Nagant 91/30
Beretta Storm .40sw
Bubba'd and rebubba'd 1898 Krag
Armalite AR15
SKS
Stevens 62 .22LR
Century R1A1
Marlin Camp 45
AK47 clone (AMD65 parts kit on a Vulcan receiver but I wanna get it working)
Sig P220
Luger P08
CZ52
Browning High Power
Colt Government .380
Colt Mustang Pocketlite
Ruger MkII
Some form of Springfield 1911
Beretta Silver Pigeon 28ga

Oh yeah I will be there at 10am, seems like I'm gonna need the time to setup ;)

Legionnaire - yep - 10.00pm - night shoot! :uhoh: :p :neener: :neener:

Dave - if you can make it that early it's great ... as for what to bring etc ... looking thru your list, which I might add makes me hungry already! - I'll just mention one or two that I know will be replicated or close to that - if you put that lot in the vehicle, Norton will think you have caught ''P95Carry Disease''!

I must remember my few spare rounds for your M1 carbine - might as well use em... only 5 or 6 anyways.

SKS - (I'll have my Norinco I expect so - use ammo in that if you want)

Century R1A1 - (will have my FAL if you wanna play with it)

Otherwise - well - if they'll go in - bring em! I am sure we'll have some duplication but no matter.

So far I am thinking of putting in ......

FAL, Ruger #1, SAR1, Chicom SKS, probably bite the bullet and put Jungle carbine in - even tho a clean-up job after (crap load of good ol' ''hangfire'' ammo for that!), Beretta Storm 9mm - hey, a Beretta shoot off I smell! ......
and well - if requested, 99C in 243, Ruger 77 MkII in .223, Camp 9, Win 94 in .357, Marlin 94 in 44 mag, oh heck - want something? Ask and we'll try and accomodate!

Handgun stuff - probably both SRH's (44 and 454), Contender 223, BFR (of course), SIG 226 will be on person regardless, probably a 357 - M27-2 8 3/8 most likely, and - oh who knows - a few others!!! LOL

And oh heck - must remember a shottie - probably just my O/U Baikal 12G

Dave,

I'll have my Garand, SKS, FAL, CZ452, USP9, Mil-Spec1911, Ruger MKii......

If you want to leave any of those at home so you can bring something else, you're welcome to use mine......

Chris,

Just remember my ribbing about your amounts of gear is nothing more than pure envy ;)

Hmmm...I don't have much interesting to share, but ya'll are welcome to shoot any of:

Bushy AR-15 20"
SKS (I know - everybody is bringing one. I think I'm a little attached to mine, and I need to work a few kinks out of it)

Marlin 25 .22lr

The wondefully classic 28" 870

CZ40-B
P95
P97

I think I can leave the mousegun - Bersa 380 at home unless somebody wants to shoot it.

Never wishing to create too much envy but - as ever - I always hope anything I have will be possibly enjoyed by others. All part of the sharing deal - part of what makes us gunnie's company so enjoyable too IMO.

Less than a week to go guys - let's just hope the weather is at least half ways decent.

Oh BTW - anyone who thinks they may have any prob's with last stage - PM me and I'll give them Ray's and my cell #'s - that way we can probably ''talk you in'' that last step.

One other thing too - Ray reminded me at today's shoot - at the entrance (almost opposite that bus shanty mentioned) - there are a number of those yellow post dealies - sorta traffic marker thingies - another small identifier as you approach that - plus I have a sign from the shoot I did in Oct 2003 near here - a sign with ''THR SHOOT'' on it.... which I'll try and hammer into the rock at entrance!

Once folks find the entrance described off 164 - follow the track up a ways (Ray may add approx distance) - and then you'll need to bear to right - where the yellow (IIRC) steel gate bar thing will have been unlocked and swung aside - just a few yards up.

Well I haven't quite caught "P95Carry Disease" yet, I still have to buy a hand truck! The SUV will fit everything I just have to make sure I can fit ammo in there with it :D . I'll probably end up bringing everything listed, it'll just give us more chances for side by side comparisons I guess!

Glad to see that the pics in the previous thread showed that the shooting points at the range are covered. Sure hoping for good weather! It's been coming down in buckets off and on today.

Looking at the pics of the range. What's the closest target backer? Would it be worthwhile bringing along a couple of target stands that can be set up at five to ten yards for handguns? I'd be happy to cobble a couple together if needed.

Legionnaire - Ray can correct me if needed but IIRC that first backer is 25 yds. Certainly - if you want to use a simple frame for closer - go ahead and bring em.

I have a couple of plastic MTM things but - thx to some young doofus at a shoot last year - they got shot up!

Yep - crap weather today and tomorrow too it seems. After that hopefully a bit better but - hard to tell yet re Saturday - just hoping. Showers we can handle but - all-day-rain, not wanted!!

I've got one of those metal frame thingies that you stick in the ground for targets. I'll try to remember to throw it in the Jeep.

I hope that the repaired version of that frame last longer than when it was new. Very first shot.....I mean very first......with FIL's 45LC and it hit one of the uprights and broke the weld. :( A couple of minutes with the welder and all was well.....and a much stronger weld I hope.
