Swedish Mauser questions

I called sarco the other day and every Swede Mauser they now have supposedly has a cracked stock. Only the high end M41s were in excellent shape...
I sold mine with target sights years ago because I never fired it. I think I saw it for sale at $800....I think I bought it for $129 and sold it for $190...

So the prices are going to head skyward for awhile on Swede Mausers

$450 for a M38 is a little high, though a Husquvarna could easily fetch that much

All true M-38s were made by the Husky factory. The 96/38 rifles were those converted from earlier M-96s. Those have receivers from all manufactures.
Plus it should be noted that even though the Husky factory was making the M-38s during WWII, they were also given a contract for a limited run of M-96 rifles for the Civilian Shooters program.. those are worth a bunch..

I spent an extra $10 on one to get an Oberndorf

I think that Oberndorf only made M-96s for two years, 1899 and 1900. With a run of about 40,000 rifles... It was certainly worth that extra 10 bucks...
