I am in the market for a SxS. I used my grandfathers' when I was very young, in 16 ga and I'd like to get another.

That one is long gone (locked in my brothers safe) so I'm in the market for a new one.

I don't see many in the stores any more of course, and even searching online I get a limited choice.

I'm looking to stay under $3-4000 which limits me further.

To limit it further, I'd really prefer single trigger and pistol grip.

At the moment the Beretta Silver Hawk (471 I think) seems to be about my only choice within my criteria.

Anyone have other suggestions for a Side by Side? Did I miss any?

Many thanks as always!

If I were in the market for a god SxS right now, I would wait until Connecticut Shotgun gets its RBL model into the hands of some folks. The wait right now is over a year, but they look sweet and the CS's rep for quality shotguns is outstanding.

If I had to have one right this minute, the Beretta Silverhawks are nice. I haven't held a Kimber Valier, so I can't say much about them.

I have a 471 silverhawk
I like it A LOT
12 ga, 28inch barrels, english stock.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
probably got 2000+ rounds through it since December.
It's my baby.

If the RBL EVER comes out, it will be sweet, I'm tired of waiting.:scrutiny:
There are some very nice spainish (aya?) in that 3k to 4k range.

there are some Italian ones also in that 2500 to 3500 range.

Look around, find a good shop. there are always used ones around too.

I love my SxS

The Beretta Silverhawk is a good solid gun in that price range. The RBL from Galazan is back ordered and the wait is long.

As for the Spanish guns, while I love them and own one I would avoid any with a single trigger and definitely not get one with a single selectable trigger. Mine has two triggers, like a sxs should have.;)

I would look for a nice English best gun. They can be had in the price range you mentioned. It can be a great shooter than will never depreciate and a fine piece of work to admire. PM me for a source I have that always has a few guns and usually has more coming (ATF forms in process). I have a Hussey Ltd. that fits like a gove and points like my finger.
