TAC 14 Question

Can a TAC 14 pistol brace kit retain the pistol grip but have the brace removed and the tube shortened so the gun is still 26”+?

On my 20 gauge Tac-14 by removing the tube it appears to end up at a total length close to 24 inches. That is with the tube removed. If shortened the tube could be cut about 2 inches to the rear of the threads to meet the 26 inch overall. Any other legal issues ? I don't know. (SB tactical brace - 20 gauge)

Mine is a 20 ga. also. Yea I was thinking of a shortened tube to get over the 26” law and use a foam tube on it.
