I'd say he's have a better chance of getting the Bren 10 into production.

1 million rounds per day? That's about the output of 42 Dillon XL650's, doesn't take 350 people to keep those running and feeding them ammo.

Where's he going to get 365 million bullets, cases, primers, and all that powder in a market already behind the curve making ammo?

Are we aware that Lake City was making that much 5.56, 7.62, and .50BMG prior to 2004? http://www.almc.army.mil/alog/issues/SepOct10/spectrum_smallarms_ammo.html

I'm not saying he can't find other people to buy loading equipment and start up ammo production. What is going to be a major obstacle is getting the components in a market already at the limits of it's ability. To overcome that, making the bullets, cases, primers, and powder is about the only way out, and that is going to require millions in capitalization.

One way to value the amount needed is to calculate it based on it's annual gross sales, which in this case would be over $182 milllion a year if they sell ammo at 50c a round to vendors.

He's got those kind of investors, I doubt they would even be associated with him due to his reputation. What we have is the media churning another story to publish and keep up their readership with conservative audiences.

Seems to work.

Smell test.....

There seems to a lot of - news stories around this guy & his gun business.
It all doesn't pass the smell test. :uhoh:

How can a gun store/range not make $$$ in the last 5 years?

One local FFL holder/gun shop chain owner went from 3 locations in 2002 to about 9 stores all over the state in 2012.
He also started by selling gun parts at a booth in gun shows.

As for his service records, Id do a www.NARA.gov check or contact Don Shipley of VA Beach. He's a retired US Navy SEAL & as a hobby tracks down/exposes fake veterans and SEAL/SF posers. Shipley's Youtube.com clips a stitch. If you dislike Stolen Valor veterans, don't watch.

IMO: It's Jeremy Alcede running his mouth again.

Except for the hoarding of .22 rimfire ammo, the small arms ammunition situation is nearly stabilized. There appears to be a glut of certain calibers. No one in their right mind would build an ammo plant now.

The Alcede's are accused of ripping off their investor, Steven Coe Wilson. Looks like they took his money and then ignored the guy.

Steven Coe Wilson's request for a temporary injunction against the Alcedes:

Judge's' order granting a temporary injunction:

After the Alcede's ignored the temporary injunction the principal investor came back to court for a permanent injunction. The judge appointed a receiver to take charge of inventory, buildings, range and everything else. Alcede has no say in the running of the business.

Jeremy Alcede is barred from running Tactical Firearms and interfering with the court appointed receiver:

When one party is embezzling a significant portion of income, it can certainly have a such an effect

There are any number of businesses (both gun and non-gun) that can fail during boom times. It's all about competency and business acumen.

Reportedly, the FFL holder/veteran has a fund raiser on a crowd funding site.
How this plan or his other ideas are going to source a new factory with 350 employees?

Oprah Winfrey who's worth hundreds of millions once said how she's concerned about how her choices & business decisions effect 425 employees.
Does this guy have that kind of cheddar? :uhoh:

It sounds like it might be like the old Texas phrase; all hat & no cattle.

Not that it really matters in the spirit of this string, but Oprah's net worth is 2.9 BILLION dollars. Het net income so far this year alone (as of June) is 84 million. Which means she's on track to earn the better part of 200 million clams by the end of the year.

This guy is a kook. But never underestimate the power of kooks to raise money for their goal(s).

Not that he'll get anything from me.

RustyShackelford.....How can a gun store/range not make $$$ in the last 5 years?
1. Can't make $$$$ if you don't have inventory to sell. Inventory from distributors/manufacturers is allocated to biggest accounts first. Little guys get stuff last, if at all.
2. Insufficient reserves to tide the business over during lean times.
3. Panic buying doesn't mean return customers.
4. The last two gun buying panics were primarily black rifles and "hi capacity" handguns. Some dealers don't stock those, choosing to stock sporting shotguns, bolt action/lever action rifles and SA revolvers..........those didn't sell as well during the panic. (which means no profit)
5. Poor business practices, poor business management, poor planning.

#5 basically sums up the previous 4 points, and also covers everything else. Running a successful business is multi-faceted. Running a retail business is a whole lot more than just putting product on the shelves with price tags and waiting for customers to buy, which seems to be the common perception among non-business owners. Likewise, running a service type business entails more than simply having skills that people will pay you to use for their benefit.

All good points.....

These are good points.
I finally saw the Fox News(Houston TX) media clip where the guy says he's expanding & hiring 350 new employees.
The whole thing sounds odd, .
The reporter in the clip seemed to gloss over the $$$ issues too.
Honestly she seemed like she was intoxicated or was just in a car accident.
