You see a lot of funny pictures of LE or military looking hand signals around the web nowadays. In fact, at least one is in use here (The "troll post" signal). These are usually very polished images, and I've seen more than a few that seem to be from a matching set. Is there a bona fide standard guide to these signals somewhere online? I'd like to peruse it sometime.

Is this what you're looking for???

I'll leave it open if someone wants to answer the original question about hand signals. We don't need to repost all the humorous ones though. There are only about 4 threads on THR with them.

Ive never seen a guide to hand signals online or anywhere. Im a comabt engineer, all our hand signals are squad and platoon sop. The army has a few guidlines, but usually a units leaders sit down and plan out the more advanced signals. There a few simple signals taught in basic such as stop, freeze, advance, etc. Ultimatly its up to the unit itself to decide what signals to use. Last time we updated our sops on handsignals, it ended up being 10 pages full of pictures ad descriptions.

I asked everyone to keep on topic with the original question. Do a search for the old threads on the funny hand signals. This one is closed.
