I have a few questions about some of the stuff Browning makes:

1)How does the Japanese stuff compare to the original Belgium stuff?

2)Is the premium asked for the Belgium stuff worth the price?

3)Where can I find a decent value to pay for some of these guns on the internet? I don't have a gun values book handy, so I'd just like to browse it on the net.

4)Is there anywhere I can find a decent price on that Browning Auto .22 rifle? You know, the takedown model? Ever since I saw a buddy's I've had a major hard on for one. Do they even still make it new?

Just like anything else that is japanese made, Browning guns made there are top notch.

Belgian Brownings are more expensive because, well, they aren't made in Belgium anymore. ;)

They usually run north of $500. IMHO they are beautiful rifles, the one example that I shot felt really nice and was very accurate. You won't find them in the Ruger 10/22 range of prices because they are in a completely different class of rimfires.

You can save a fair amount of money on a Belgian browning by buying one that doesn't have the Browning name on it.

This is, of course speaking about hi-powers. Buy an FN marked one from CDNN and save a purty penny.

Specifically the firearms I'm talking about would be the Browning Belgium HP, the Browning A5 (either make), and the Browning auto .22 take down.

I want to know if the premium asked is worth the extra cost. I'm sure down the road it may be, but right now is the thing.

There are two issues in the question "worth the cost":

1. Is the performance better? No

2. Will the value of the belgium model be worth more (have higher "resale" value) in the future? Probably
