Or the TBT as some may know. It is a free paper for the Tampa Bay area. They are actually not anti-gun (I have been reading it for 2 years). They use words like "semiautomatic" instead of "automatic" when referring to handguns. Most, if not all, of the articles I have read involving guns is unbiased media.

I suggest anyone in the Tampa Bay area try it for yourself. It is always nice to promote good media.

Sounds like a good paper...But autoloading handguns(pistols) are called automatics...Even though you have to pull the trigger every time you want it to go bang.

Fully automatic is a different story. ;)

I think the fact that the TBT is at least trying to be accurate is a major plus. That puts them miles ahead of most newspapers that don't even pretend to understand guns.

We are currently "snow-birding" in St. Pete and I've picked up one of the TBT papers from the free box. I didn't know what it was to start with but after reading discovered that it was bascially a free newspaper with a lot of ads. I haven't read it enough to form an opinion as to its firearm bias or lack thereof but I intend to keep picking up a copy.

TBT had an article back last February I think on buying a handgun for home protection. I seem to recall the image of an SW9VE on the front cover. *shudder*

Yeah Wes, I read that article. It was actually uite positive if I remember correctly. It was about a young man who was practically forced to live on the wrong side of town by Tropicana Stadium due to financial issues. I can't remember exactly what happened but he bought a gun for SD. The paper made no mention of how "dangerous" guns were to the people who owned them, or how it could be taken away and used against him.

As for the ads, what did you expect? It is, afterall, a free paper. I usually skip right past them and go to the kakuro.
