Where they tell me to go
So, as they are now around $400 I think I "need" one. Wanted the 3in model but those don't seem to have come to market.

Does anyone have first hand experience with the new Taurus 327 model?

I'll likely shoot more 32 mag in it than anything. Really wanted the Charter "Professional" but they sort of left the 32 fans at the alter with something that shot a foot from the point of aim.

Thoughts or advice on the Taurus 327?

I have one of the older 327 models and shoot just .32 H&R magnum ammo out of it. There is less muzzle blast, noise, and better shot to shot recovery time. Buffalo Bore does make a +P version of of the .32 H&R magnum. Yes, there is no real +P SAAMI spec for the .32 H&R magnum, but BB sells the rounds with that moniker. The muzzle velocity is near .32 Federal magnum ones.

Being able to shoot .327, 32 H&R magnum, and 32 S&W Long is a bonus.

The .32H&R has always left a lot on the table as performance goes.
I have a Taurus M76 in .32H&R. I duplicate the BB loads with a published max load of Hodgdons Lil’Gun. (Lyman #48. 11.2gr w/100gr XTP for 1,300fps from 6”bbl. It’s a tack driver too!

The .327 is a great load but the Federal 100gr Spt load (AMERICAN EAGLE) is the most available load and is a little over the top as it often sticks in cylinders and craters primers. I find dropping the loads 3-5% and using small rifle primers cures the problems. (I also have a Ruger Single-7). I feed the S-7 a Lee cast 113gr RFN-GC over 10.0 of #2400. It gets 1,300fps and is accurate.

I’m holding out for a 3” Taurus 327 with adjustable sights.
I have a Taurus 856 2” that’s flawless. But it’s not a .327...
The attraction of the .327 is ammo flexibility. .32s&w short, long, H&R, and .327mag. Add in the .32acp in some instances. Mild to WILD!

I now have about 250 Rounds of .32 Long, came back from vacation today and my RCBS Carbide Die set was waiting for me. Just need the gun. This one looks interesting but I really wish it had a 3” barrel. I am eager to hear peoples reports.

My wife owned one for about a year. Ammo was pretty easy to find at the time in American Eagle soft point 100gr. I never got her around to trying other .32 ammo in it. She found the 327 ammo light enough recoil to not bother her arthritis or hand nerve damage. Ironically, she sold it because it was "too heavy."

Taurus quality has improved a lot and is far better than Charter. While it may not be a Professional that's a light, larger .32 Mag the Taurus is a .327 that will last a lot longer, especially if you're mostly putting .32 Mag thru it.

Really, I don't care much for the blast that comes with the .327 and I do view .32 Mag as being better for defense in a snubbie, but the benefit of the .327 is if you reload you can load your .32 Mag to slightly over published data and have no concerns of it damaging the .327 that operates at pressures more than double the max of what .32 Mag does and if you ever need full power you'll have the option of using .327 factory ammo, which is pretty hot loaded stuff.
