Does anyone know how much a used Taurus 605 protector chambered in .357 magnum is selling for used? I found a used one but the guy is wanting $375 for it.

That’s a 300 dollar gun brand new when they can be had freely. I wouldn’t pay that. But the market is thrashed with demand right now.
This is an individual who is wanting to sell or trade but the MSRP on the Taurus website is $392. I guess the people selling guns thinks that gun buyers are going to pay a fortune for guns because of this pandemic and it’s sad that people would take advantage of someone like that especially if someone is a first time gun purchaser who doesn’t know any better.

Not a 605, but I have a Taurus revolver I have looked up prices on to sell, and numbers are crazy. Demand is outrunning supply right now so it is definitely a sellers market. If you can wait then I suggest that you do. If you can’t wait then I suggest finding something in stock at a place like buds gun shop as they typically don’t jack prices up, they just let stock run out at normal price.

I have a .40 s&w so I’m not wanting a .357 bad enough to pay twice as much as the gun is worth, but the guy just told me that he would trade it for a name brand handgun so I didn’t even bother responding back after that

What I have that I’m thinking of selling is a gun that 2 years ago was a $275ish dollar gun. Gunbroker sales (recent) for the model I have are all over the place from 450 to nearly 700. The poly protectors were not the best recieved guns ever, but I did seriously consider buying a white one.

Its a weird market. I took a couple of guns see what they would be worth in trade to the LGS. I figured that I could use them toward something new and they could use the inventory. Total rake over the coals. I know I'm taking a huge hit selling to the LGS. I have done it dozens of times, but they severely undervalued the guns based on what they had offered me before. I would guess I would have walked away with another 150 any other time.

I guess my big gripe is that they have almost no guns to buy under the glass, these guns would flip almost instantly at higher than average prices. They would be out nothing but like product as I planned to trade them for store credit toward something else. On top of that, all of them were purchased originally at this store. I fully anticipate getting taken coming and going. That's business, but I'm not really jazzed about having the guns undervalued.
