Finally, the finger grooves that everyone hates and nobody asked for! 🙄

oh boy! now i don't have to pay extra for finger groove grips!

Ive shot a few of those taurus 92 clones, not that particular variant tho, and liked them well enough.

That is the rational approach. Add finger grips IF YOU WANT THEM. For a manufacturer to commit, on an alloy framed gun, no less, to YOU MUST HAVE THEM is silly IMO.
My guess is Taurus is following their own old history. All the PT917 was when originally introduced, a PT92 frame with a PT92C slide, shipped with factory OEM 17rd mags.

I have the factory OEM 17rd mags already.

They were first introduced with the PT917 back in the day and then started to be packaged with the PT92s when inventory of the original 15rders dried up.

I guess the finger grooved frame is the new PT92 frame and they're going to eventually discontinue the older finger grooveless one and once they run out, they'll use 'em across the board.

Variations on the Beretta 92 keep popping up, like mushrooms after the rain. :)
It is a good design.
